Inventory note: "Fire damaged electrical outlet suspected of being the fire origin point at the Central Services fire". This fire inspired the founding of the campus fire department. From the Sentinel: "The chancellor's office, and admissions office which comprise about one-half of the upper floor were completely destroyed, and the remainder of the structure suffered extensive smoke and water damage."
