Silverman, professor of Spanish literature and an authority on the folk literature of the Spanish Sephardic Jews... presents the second volume of Hispania Judaica, which includes studies of the various aspects of the literature of Hispanic Jews... he also has published "en torno al romancero sefardi," a collection of ... studies on the Hispanic and Balkan aspects of Judeo-Spanish-Spanish traditional poetry, and has edited and written the introduction and notes for "Judeo Spanish Ballads from New York," a collection of 39 traditional ballads orignially recorded in New York City in 1922 and 1923. Caspi, a lecturer in religious studies, published "Grandfather Poems," a collection of 40 verses he wrote which were inspired by his grandfather, a weaver, mystic and learned man of the of the kabbalah in Yemen. Another book by Caspi , "The Piyutin of the Maranot," is a collection of 135 sacred poems recited during the morning prayer on the Day of Atonement.
