From the Sentinel: "CARRIAGE HOUSE on the UCSC campus now houses the physical planning department and the department on buildings and grounds. It was remodeled and renovated from the original carriage house on the Cowell ranch as it is viewed in this picture from the lane going onto the ranch from the Cowell home, now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. George Cardiff. The building is an example of early Santa Cruz architecture with a New England flavor from the Henry Cowell family, former residents of Massachusetts."
