Inventory note: "Allstate Insurance Company, computer gift". From the Sentinel: "Chancellor Dean E. McHenry, center, accepts on behalf of UCSC the gift of two Burroughs Model 220 computer systems from the Allstate Foundation. At right is R. T. Hoffman, a former Santa Cruz resident and regional manager for Allstate Insurance Companies, sponsors of the foundation. The two systems include a processor, a memory control unit, a console, six magnetic tape drives, a magnetic tape controller and a Cardatron. The systems, originally purchased for $1.2 million in 19[--] by Allstate, now are valued at $320,000. At left is Dr. Harry D. Huskey, professor of information and computer science and director of the UCSC Computer Center."
